Hotels, Taverns, Bars and Pubs in Surrey, United Kingdom

Publocation UK is a work in progress. So far we've listed pubs in London and across much of England, and we're adding the rest of the United Kingdom county by county. So if you don't see a pub we should get to it soon. Cheers, Team Publocation.

Surrey's pub history follows its old roads and hop gardens. Guildford's Angel, an inn by 1606, is the only survivor of the many coaching inns that once lined the High Street. At Chiddingfold, the Crown Inn, recorded as an inn in 1383, is counted among England's oldest. Farnham's hops were judged the finest in England in the mid-1700s before disease ended the trade, and Hogs Back Brewery revived the local variety in 2014. Dickens, meanwhile, set the Wellers' Marquis of Granby inn at Dorking in The Pickwick Papers.
