Pubs, Taverns, Bars and Hotels in Staffordshire, United Kingdom

Publocation UK is a work in progress. So far we've listed pubs in London and across much of England, and we're adding the rest of the United Kingdom county by county. So if you don't see a pub we should get to it soon. Cheers, Team Publocation.

Staffordshire's beer story centres on Burton upon Trent. The town's gypsum-rich well water suited pale ales so well that its brewers built a 19th-century reputation for India Pale Ale, and others later treated their water to match, a practice known as Burtonisation. Bass's red triangle became the first trademark registered in the UK, on New Year's Day 1876, and Marston's fermented Pedigree in linked oak casks, the Burton Union system, until 2024. More recently, the Tamworth Tap has been named CAMRA's National Pub of the Year three times.
