Closed down in July, 2016 and premises gutted in September 2016. A new café bar opened in December 2016 with no draught beer.

The pub's frontage retains many original features, including the ornate, period wrought-iron feature bearing the legend: 'THE DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE'. Now an African bar selling Nile Special, Bell, Nigerian Guinness plus the usual keg range.
