Hotels, Pubs, Bars and Taverns in Lancashire, United Kingdom

Publocation UK is a work in progress. So far we've listed pubs in London and across much of England, and we're adding the rest of the United Kingdom county by county. So if you don't see a pub we should get to it soon. Cheers, Team Publocation.

Lancashire has some unexpected drinking stories. Soldiers of the East Lancashire Regiment came home from France after the First World War with a taste for Bénédictine, and Burnley still drinks it as "Bene 'n' hot", topped up with hot water; the town's Miners' Club is reputedly the liqueur's biggest single customer. Preston, meanwhile, is where "teetotal" is said to have been coined in 1833. Thwaites has brewed around Blackburn since 1807, and Preston's 1898 Black Horse is one of only 14 UK pubs with a ceramic bar counter.
