Clovelly Inn, WEST DEVON, Devon

The Clovelly Inn Free House is an authentic rural Devon pub, dating back to the 18th Century. Originally called the Old Pack Horse Inn, and later the Palmers Clovelly Hotel, the bar features an oak fireplace lintel inscribed 1789.

The owners, Torben and Suzanne Hughes, have created a welcoming, child-friendly atmosphere, with a fine selection of real ales which changes weekly, and home cooked food available seven days a week.

Bratton Clovelly is a rural village on the North Western edge of Dartmoor National Park, some 9 miles away from the town of Okehampton. It is notable for its Norman period church, St Mary the Virgin, which contains a series of very rare 17th Century wall paintings.
